Characteristics And Benefits Of A Custom Mural Design

By Anthony Scott

Different artists express their inner emotions through the colors they paint on their work surfaces. Often, people hear that a single picture can be described in a thousand ways. If that is so, a Custom Mural Design can, therefore, be expressed in infinite descriptions. Viewers of the art are often glued to the sight of the painting, because the bold pigments blend well.

Mural designs are very inherent with the normal pictorial expressions by most famous and renowned painters, even impressionist. The reason behind the notion is that, whilst most artist need a canvas or another common work piece, muralists paint their pictures on walls. The painting, therefore, partakes of the architectural design, and at the same time, modifies the spatial limits of the work surface.

Apart from the fact that murals form an integral part of the general architectural outlook, the art expressed on the walls should also exude a miasma of social significance. Muralists tend to design their work in a manner that conveys a certain significant societal theme that affects individuals within the locality. The idea should be depicted clearly, without altering the structural plan.

Since the historical days, mural paintings have been done using different techniques. Some commonly known techniques of painting include; encaustic, fresco, tempera, and acrylics on canvas. In contemporary times, fluid silicate or heated porcelain enamel are widely used. During the Classical era, however, the mostly used technique was encaustic. Painters using this scheme used liquefied bee wax as a binder and applied it to the work piece whilst hot. In Tempera, the binder used was mainly egg white or yolk.

As aforementioned, modern or contemporary techniques of producing murals came much later, and it was only during the early years of the sixteenth century that oil on canvas artists began producing decorative canvas artworks as murals. However, the only drawback of using this form of painting is that the binder normally used, reduces the quality of pigments and makes them assume an unpleasant look if subjected to bad climatic conditions.

Custom wall murals are exciting and creates an impeccable visual expression. That is perhaps the main drive behind their exponential rise in popularity. The gigantic size of the painting leaves many people caught up in admiration. And if asked whether they prefer conventional paints to murals, a viewer will simply attest that the latter trumps all other kinds of pictorial art.

Surveys have indicated that mural installation has the potential to increase the profitability of a commercial establishment. The bold colors used to express the messages tend to evoke certain inner feelings from clients. Consequently, they are moved to make a purchase in a jiffy. Moreover, clients will always have an affinity to visit your premises, for the paintings are simply unavoidable.

Furthermore, unlike paint, a wall mural is more efficient. Paints usurp a substantial amount of time, and take too long before fully drying. With murals, painting is done within the shortest time possible, followed by a short term drying session. Subsequently, installation is done with ease.
