Knowing Many Of The Chicago Actors

By Jayne Rutledge

Many of the Chicago actors have a great story to share with the world. The individuals who come from Illinois know all about the happiness and pain that success can bring. Fortunately many of them have fought their way to the top and were able to stay there. Many of the others only lasted for a few years before dying or falling on hard times.

Bill Murray is one man who is proud of his Illinois upbringing and he has achieved so much success during his lifetime. People everywhere remember him from the television show "Saturday Night Live" before he moved on to bigger and better things. He has had a long movie career and was even nominated for many awards.

When "Flashdance" first appeared in movie theatres within the United States no one had ever heard of Jennifer Beals. She took the country by surprise with her strong performance in this movie. Jennifer knows how to get along with people of all cultures since her dad was black and her mother is white. She did not have it easy while growing up on the south side of this city.

Everyone loves the wonderful actor named Harrison Ford since he has been around for such a long time. This man has become a millionaire because of his very popular movies. No one around the world could ever forget his portrayal of Indiana Jones. This character was first introduced in 1981 and has been featured in several movies.

He will quickly tell anyone that Illinois is his original home and he is very proud of this state. Harrison studied to be an entertainer while he was working as a carpenter during the day. This film star almost gave up on his dream when he failed a movie audition earlier.

Every child in America has also heard about the "Wonderful World Of Disney." Walt Disney created this company during his early Hollywood days. He is one Illinois resident that really made it big in this world with his great list of films and other projects.

The very beautiful Jennifer Hudson was also born in this part of the world and she became very famous after being featured on "American Idol." She did not win this talent show but many movie producers were still quite interested in her talent. She became an actress and was featured in a movie called "Dream Girls." This singer also faced tragedy several years ago when her entire family was killed by a family friend.

The Chicago actors who take center stage may sometimes pay the ultimate price for their fame. United States citizens know that Mr. John Belushi could have been the next Milton Berle because of his rare acting talent. It is a good thing that the world still has performers like Mandy Patinkin, Tom Berenger, Robin Williams and Joe Mantegna. These Illinois performers have overcome their demons and they are still going strong. Sadly the late Michael Clarke Duncan could have been an excellent role model for young men everywhere.
