Useful Information Regarding Santa Fe Balloons

By Ann Sanders

Some people consider celebrations to be incomplete without balloons because they have become an integral part of almost every festivity. It is quite normal to see kids squeal with joy at the sight of a balloon or when holding one. As for the elderly, some cannot resist the temptation of bobbing a balloon when they see one. However, it is interesting to know that fun had nothing to do with the first balloons. This is what Santa Fe Balloons are all about.

A balloon was first invented by Michael Faraday for a different purpose. They came into existence in 1824 out of some serious work and experimentation with gases. Balloons were being used to hold gases which were then studied. Production was done by pressing two rubber sheets together then the edges were cut into a circular shape. Flour was then applied to the opposite surfaces to ensure that they did not get stuck together

Before the invention of the balloon, something else was used in its place. Animal intestines and pig bladders served the same purpose as toy balloons back in the day. The balloon has evolved over time to become what it is today. Today, they are manufactured in factories and people put them to use in various ways. There are those who use them for decorative, entertainment, and advertising purposes.

Artists have used them for a long period of time to display art. The balloons that artists use are usually made of rubber that allows them to stretch extensively. For advertisement purposes, service providers and companies use printed or huge blimps to broadcast their services, events or products.

These products can be inflated with water, air or different gases such as helium, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrous oxide. A balloon can be manufactured using diverse materials today. These materials are latex, nylon fabric, rubber, polychroloprene and others. Moreover, they come in many colors for people to select from. The design is changed to strengthen them if they are meant to serve meteorology, medical treatment, military defense or transportation functions.

The low cost and low density of balloon are the properties behind its raising wide range of applications. These bags are able to float when filled with helium gas because it is lighter than air. Rubber trees provide the raw material for manufacturing latex balloon. Latex is harvested from the bark of rubber tree. Most importantly, latex is biodegradable.

Companies that manufacture balloons from latex are environment conscious. First, they harvest latex without falling trees thus encouraging afforestation. By doing this they allow trees to continue producing this raw material for up to 40 years while still intact. People who are in the habit of releasing balloons into the air must know that they freeze and break at a certain elevation and return to earth.

In conclusion, it is a worry that bags released into the air still affect the environment because they eventually return back as small soft silver rubbers. On the other hand, if the rubber is biodegradable then the product cannot affect the environment. When buying a balloon, it is important to remember that it can cause suffocation if mishandled.
