Steps In Making Narrative Drawings

By Ida Dorsey

Drawing can be very difficult, especially if you are not that accustomed to it. However, just like any other skills, if you practice, you will eventually learn it. Most of the time, it can be frustrating, especially if the result is not what you expect it to be.

Drawings has been around for centuries already. Our ancestors used different tools to achieve it. Some of them even use bizarre equipments just to share their ideas to everyone. If you want to know how to create narrative drawings, then that is fine, because we will guide you through on how to do it. If there are some steps that you find difficult, just practice it and you will learn.

First off, we will begin with a concept. This should be the basis on what you are willing to create. If you are into political issues, then go for it. You should also make your own style. If you want it to be very realistic to look at, then that is also a good idea. For those who love anime and cartoons, then trying that version out is also not a bad thing.

Once you finish creating your concept, you can then proceed to the second stage which is the narration part. This is where the main story comes into play. You have to create a story in every shape that you make through the drawing process. For instance, if it is a line, you can narrate it as a road that most people cross or something like that.

Now, it is time for the illustration. It is not that necessary that you know how to draw. Just a basic shape and that should be fine. Before you create a step by step story, make an overview first on what it looks like when it is finish. In that way, it would be easier for you on how to narrate the process. In narrating, be sure that the words you are saying corresponds to what you are illustrating.

The tools can be whatever your like. It can be your favorite crayon, your ballpen, a marker, or even your blood. Well, blood can be an ink, but do not try this if you are a beginner, because it can be dangerous, especially that you are still practicing. Once you determine the tools that you want to utilize, then go start the illustration process.

For some, creating ideas is a difficult task. You have to be very creative in order for you to do this. This is not always the case. In fact, every person has ideas, but they are just not that confident to show it to the world.

Last step but not the least, is the presentation. This is where you finish everything up and ready to show it to your audience. If you are proud of you work and you are okay to show it to the world, then share to some social networking sites out there.

Keep in mind that giving is not always an option. If you failed in the first try, then try it again until you get what you want. It might take some time, but for sure the results will be worthwhile.
